Opportunities for Donors

Capital Campaign - PVAMU intends to Extend the View by embarking on a capital campaign to secure private contributions from state, regional and national communities. Extending the view means growing the University from more than 8,000 students to 15,000 in the first decade of this millennium. It also means enriching the academic environment to attract and retain the best of a diverse student body and faculty through endowed scholarships and professorships. Funds raised for academic endowments will be matched dollar for dollar with funds provided by the state of Texas.

Annual Fund - The Annual Fund sustains the margin of excellence Prairie View A&M University strives to achieve in all its many and various activities. Giving to the fund improves faculty recruitment and development, academic program development, student scholarships and retention programs, community outreach, and campus wide improvements.

Scholarships - Give deserving students the opportunity to realize their dream of a college education. Endowments, possible naming opportunities, and special programs in the academic departments and athletics are among many other programs through which your gifts can support Prairie View A&M University.

Endowments – A gift that is placed in a permanent fund and invested.  Some of its income is disbursed for the purpose you designate.  The remaining income goes back into the fund, helping its value stay ahead of inflation.  This ensures that endowments will always provide the same benefits as they did when first created.  Endowment donors may name their endowments for themselves, their companies, family members, or friends.

Program Support - Private gifts, directed by the donor to support specific programs, play a crucial role in strengthening those programs. For example, funding to purchase new computers will ensure that students are taught using the latest technology.

Gifts for each of these purposes will reach their targeted fund or program promptly. Please bear in mind, however, that there are many Ways to Give deferred gifts, such as through Estate Planning.  Please feel free to Contact the Development Office, where we will be happy to discuss these options with you.
