We are excited about your interest in serving as a volunteer for the capital campaign. The following opportunities are available:
Awareness Meeting Hosts
Awareness Meeting Hosts will each be asked to host a small group meeting of key individuals chosen from the various Leadership Gifts, Pacesetter Gifts, and other phases' prospect lists. Each host will be asked to be personally involved in the meeting by opening his/her home (or designated venue) and offering his/her advocacy for the campaign to those in attendance. Responsibilities for the Awareness Meeting Hosts include:
Attending an orientation meeting.
Choosing the date, time, and place for the awareness meeting within the master calendar for the Awareness Phase. The campaign office will keep the master calendar and will assist with meeting arrangements when appropriate.
Selecting at least 15 to 20 guests (individuals or couples) to invite to his//her meeting.
Inviting guests and following up to confirm attendance. Invitations should be by letter (on personal or business stationery or a specially designed invitation) and be followed by telephone calls or another form of personal contact.
Keeping a list of those who attend and those who decline. If an invited guest cannot attend the meeting, encourage his or her attendance at another meeting.
Providing appropriate refreshments for the meeting.
Submitting reports to the campaign office regarding his/her meeting.
Alumni/Special Gifts Volunteers
Under the supervision of the Special Gifts Chair, committee members are responsible for inviting residents of the community and other friends to make informed and thoughtful decisions regarding their financial participation in the capital campaign. Responsibilities for the Alumni/Special Gifts volunteers include:
Making an up-front personal and/or corporate pledge at the highest level of ability as an example for others to follow.
Attending an orientation and assignment meeting.
Receiving assignments to invite others to consider financial participation in the capital campaign.
Maintaining close communication with the Special Gifts Chair and adhering to the agreed-upon solicitation guidelines and timetable.
Providing support and assistance to other committee members as appropriate.
Attending necessary committee meetings to report on progress.
Fully appreciating the campaign's critical aspects of timing by maintaining a "campaign atmosphere" and accomplishing various steps on schedule.
